What is an EICR?
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is an official safety inspection of a property’s electrical system.
It checks whether the electrics are safe, compliant, and free from potential hazards such as faulty wiring, overloaded circuits, or fire risks.
An EICR does not involve rewiring unless serious faults are found — it is a detailed safety assessment.

Who needs an EICR?

A business owner – recommended every 5 years (or more frequently for high-risk environments)
•
A homeowner – recommended every 10 years or when buying/selling a property
•
Letting or managing a property
Landlords must provide tenants with a copy of the report and carry out any required remedial work.
What does an EICR inspection include?

Power may need to be switched off briefly during testing.
